Holiday Closure NotificationThe City of Hayward Code Enforcement Division will be closed for business from Nov 25-29, 2024, and from Dec 23, 2024-Jan 3, 2025, to allow City staff an opportunity to spend time with friends and family during the holiday season.  Non-emergency request for Code Enforcement Services can be submitted through Access Hayward and will be processed upon the City’s return to normal business operations. Conditions which present an imminent danger may be reported to 911, for response via on call staff.  Please note that all case compliance times active during these time periods will be extended and provided new re-inspection dates as necessary.  For payment of any active program fees due or penalties issued please log on to the City's online payment center or mail payments to the following address: City of Hayward Code enforcement Division , 777 B St. Hayward CA, 94541.

MASTER FEE SCHEDULE UPDATE: As we continue to improve our services, we want to inform you about upcoming changes to our Master Fee Schedule. Starting January 1, 2025, new fees will take effect, and a 4% convenience fee will be applied to credit card transactions exceeding $250. We appreciate your understanding and encourage you to review the updated fee schedule on our website Adopted FY 2025 Master Fee Scheduled - Effective January 1, 2025

The Code Enforcement Division provides regulatory enforcement services for a broad range of adopted local, state and federal codes. These codes include, but are not limited to, the City of Hayward Municipal CodeCalifornia Building Code, California Health and Safety Code, and International Property Maintenance Code.  Through education and responsive enforcement, it is our goal to work with private property owners, residents and businesses, to preserve and promote safe and healthy communities through the enforcement of adopted standards. 

The City of Hayward maintains a  comprehensive Code Enforcement Division which helps to protect general health and safety, neighborhood integrity, private property, residential housing conditions, and enhance the quality of neighborhoods. It is an integral part of the City's commitment to neighborhood improvement and sustainability.  In partnership with residents, neighborhood associations, public service agencies, city departments, and local businesses, Code Enforcement strives to provide the most responsive and indepth service available to keep our communities safe and clean.

How to pay your invoice

  1. In the Invoice Search box, type the complete INVOICE NUMBER from the invoice, include letters, dashes, and all numbers, then, click the Search button
  2. Verify that the invoice information is correct, then click the Pay Now button
  3. Choose the method of payment (credit card or eCheck)
  4. For credit card: Enter the credit card information and an email address. Once all the information is entered, click Continue
    For eCheck: Choose the account type from the drop-down menu, then enter the bank account information and an email address. Once all the information is entered, click Continue
  5. Click Submit Payment. A receipt will be emailed to the email address entered with the payment information. It can also be printed from the confirmation page
